FOOD IS FUEL

Our diets play a huge roll in the way we feel.

As cowboys, ranchers and farmers, our food intake isn’t always the healthiest.

Whether we are on the road to the next rodeo, or in tractor all day and night, we either don’t eat, or we grab something fast and unhealthy.

Think of food as fuel. You wouldn’t put regular gas in a diesel pickup, because it isn’t going to fuel the engine properly. Think of your body as the diesel engine, and put the appropriate fuel in so that it runs to the best of its ability. We don’t have time to deal with a blown up engine, so make sure to pay attention to what you are putting in.

Preparation is key when it comes to our food. Take an hour or two one day of the week and prep healthy lunches and snacks to grab on your way out. Try to plan dinner in advance too, so that you know what you need and can be prepared to make a healthy choice at dinner time.

We need to change the way we eat, to feel like the best SOBER COWBOY we can be. Let’s get back to our cowboy roots and eat simple, clean meals from the land we work and use.
